Including 14 years as comms technician and 3 years as WA radio team manager with project manager functionality of various telecommunication systems; PDH & SDH point to point microwave, Next G mobiles RBS, CAN radio, Via-sat satellite systems and structure maintenance programs. Joined WNA in August 2011 and was responsible for the successful implementation and commissioning of telecoms systems for the BHPBIO Goldsworthy Main Line (rail). 
Currently full time with Woodside in the Digital Field Services Projects team on a range of brownfields projects.

An IT/OT Specialist Consultant with 20 Years’ experience across the Oil, Gas, Mining and Utilities sectors, Primary disciplines are in Cyber Security, Networking, Infrastructure, Virtualization and Governance.  Extensive knowledge of Greenfield and Brownfield OT environment design and implementation having just completed a project to design and build the OT environment (Network, Systems, Cyber Security, and Virtualization Platform) of a Kalgoorlie based gold mining client. Recently involved in assisting a major Oil and Gas client with a multi stage Remote Operations Centre project.  Joined WNA in 2022 and engaged in SANTOS works.

Thirty (30) years onshore and offshore telecommunications maintenance experience with service companies such as AWA Electronics, Navcom Electronics, Darwin utilities (PAWA, NT Electricity Commission) and with MARCOMM for 13 years, predominantly supporting and servicing multiple operators in the offshore O&G industry. Experienced in the installation and servicing of systems such as Radars, Echo Sounders, Autopilots, Gyrocompasses, HF, VHF and UHF transceivers, PAGA systems, Aviation headsets, HF radio systems, HF, VHF and UHF Antennas, SATCOM equipment, EPIRBs, GPS Receivers, NDB systems, PBX systems, ROV systems and marine instrumentation. From 2001-2006 on full time contract to Normandy/Newmont Mining. Project management for CP Mining IT group supplied communications for the Cape Preston Mining Project completed April 08. Project management of comms for the Oxiana Prominent Hill project. Has ‘General Manager’ role within WNA besides overseeing various works including ICT Management for Western Areas and WNA involvement in Atlas Iron projects.

Work undertaken for Landgate (metro WAN design), BHPB Petroleum (Pyrenees FPSO LAN design, Macedon comms study), BHPBIO (rail asset protection network architecture study), Woodside Pluto (LAN/WAN design and telecoms temporaries), FMG Christmas Creek Stockyard LAN/WAN design, Woodside NR2 project (offshore commissioning), Woodside Vincent FPSO upgrade. Currently providing project support on multiple client projects.

A trained RAAF Radio Technician with 9 years of military experience. Has 40 years post military experience in radio and telecommunication system maintenance, design, installation and commissioning. With WNA since January 2010 providing consulting services to major government, petro-chemical and mining companies in migrating their radio communication needs from legacy analogue to state-of-the-art digital radio communication systems. Technical writing specialist for development of scopes, specifications, tender documents, and project management, maintenance & training plans for new digital radio systems.

First 4 years spent as Project Engineer for MW Radio rollout projects across Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. 30+ years of Telecommunications & Rail Communications industry experience in both the Telco & Resource sector. I’ve held various positions with Client, EPCM, Tier 1 Contractor, Telco. The past 16 years I have been involved with some of the largest resource sector communications projects and upgrades in WA. This has been a challenging and rewarding experience. This included BHP RGP3, 4, 5, PHIHP & Jimblebar, Rio Tinto Brockman 4, Mesa A, GAP, Teal Siding, Roy Hill, DBNGP-Dampier to Bunbury Pipeline. A talent for the successful execution and delivery of technically complex projects within challenging environments and timeframes. I have strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent attention to detail and a high level of organization. An ability to influence at multiple levels with both internal and external parties. Joined WNA in December 2022.

Senior ICT Sales Engineer and Technical Consultant with a background in ICT and telecommunications technologies in Enterprise and Government customers in Western Australia and South Australia. Commenced technical career in the aviation industry as an Avionics Maintenance Engineer at Jandakot Airport. Studied Electronic Engineering through Mt Lawley TAFE, attaining an Associate Diploma of Electronic Engineering in 1994. Post graduation employment with Optus in 1995 as a Network Engineer commenced a 28-year technical career in the ICT industry, in technical, managerial, and consultative roles with a strong focus on delivering optimal customer experiences, while optimising business systems and solutions.
Experienced in Mobile Telephony Networks including LTE and 5G networks, microwave radio systems, WAN, LAN, network management systems, telephony and satellite communications.

BSc Business Systems and BCom (Human Resources). 20+ years experience in the Telco space as a network engineer, sales support engineer and account manager. Post telco experience in SaaS sales. Since October 2023 with WNA as Project Manager for WNA’s Shell Crux telecoms systems integrator project.

B.Eng (Computer System and Network Engineering) MIEAust, Trade Open Registered Cabler, technically savvy System Consultant with over 9+ years’ experience in Pre-Sales(RFI,RFP,RFT), Vendor SoW assessment, Technical Project Management and Solution Architecture, in various industry segments including Onshore/Offshore Oil & Gas, Defence and Carrier Telecommunication projects in Australia. This includes clients support, IT operation support, service delivery and management, design, testing and commissioning of telecom system. Started with delivery services to Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Nigeria and later moved to Totalenergies Nigeria, operation and engineering under Spie Ltd, both onshore and offshore with most time spent with AKPO FPSO, OML130 Field. Wide experience in Data communication, PAGA, VHF, UHF, PABX, CCTV, VSAT, SART/EPIRB, Berthing Aid, Telemetry system, Access control and other associated support systems. Joined WNA in March 2024 and with Shell Crux Project.

Prepare systems and detailed designs for the following systems: internal communication system, external communication system, marine monitoring system, maritime collision avoidance system, management & utility, and safety & security communication system. Joined WNA in March 2024 and currently embedded in the Crux NNM Platform project.

Project Manager with over 25 years experience in the delivery of Communications, Electrical, Infrastructure and Information Transport Projects. WA licenced electrical worker, Open Registered Cabler, Registered Communications Distribution Designer, Certified Data Centre Designer and a Qualified Trainer and Assessor. Experience delivering a wide range of projects including 3G/4G/5G Mobile Towers and DAS systems, SCADA Infrastructure, Data Centres, Telecommunications Carrier Networks and numerous commercial and industrial projects for Prisons, Banks, Universities, Schools, Stadiums, Aged Care, Hospitals and Utilities across all aspects of the Communications Industry. Delivered a number of award winning projects for Curtin University, Optus, PTA, and the University of WA. Has extensive experience in Strategic planning and well developed Commercial, Financial and Operations Management skills. Currently deployed as the Project Manager for the Woodside IROC project.

Electrical trade trained and an ACMA Registered Cabler with 19 years in underground mining to Shift Supervisor level. From 1990 has been mainly involved in IT and Telecommunications at WMC Resources Kambalda Nickel Operations, 1998-2001 as IT Superintendent for WMC Queensland Fertiliser Operations and from 2001-2004 as WMC Manager Desktop Sustain. Radio communications technician experienced in designing and installing customer specific voice and data communications systems on remote Oil & Gas production installations.  Experienced in installation & commissioning of PTP microwave links, stabilized satellite systems for dynamic platforms, VoIP based radio console systems, structured cabling & Cisco network infrastructure, IT systems including the build, setup & management of Microsoft Hyper-V based virtualisation servers, SQL database management, SNMP monitoring servers and end user support of both Apple and Microsoft systems. Experience working with a wide selection of personal portable voice radios, fixed onshore & offshore inter-site microwave systems including between onshore and dynamic facilities such as ships and exploration semi-submersibles.
Joined WNA in December 2017 and currently employed in a Senior Technician role on various offshore deployments.

B. Eng (1981). Ten years on north west shelf project and five years with WMC Resources before starting Walker Newman and Associates in 1995. Telecommunications strategic consulting, project management, communications infrastructure design, radio, PABX. Principal engineer and Director of WNA. Daily workload cuts across a range of WNA projects.

Diploma of Electrotechnology 2010 & Open Registered Cabler licence. Eight years experience in telecommunications maintenance with Western Power, fault-finding and commissioning transmission and distribution telecommunication systems for SOCC and SCADA customers. Systems experience include VHF, UHF SCADA circuits and 2-way radio (Spectra, TAIT and Schneider). Experience in commissioning and fault-finding of PDH/SDH microwave radios (Ceragon, SAGEM, SIAE) and circuit programming of TDM equipment (Nokia, Keymile), Teleprotection Signalling (DEWAR, DIMAT) and structured cabling and DC systems.

Project/Construction Manager with 28 years’ experience in corporate Telecommunications and IT Infrastructure projects, including HR, Budget, Scheduling, HSE, Stakeholder, Contractor, Compliance and Implementation  management.  Skilled in networking,  upward and downward expectation management.  Technical skills in Cisco networking (CCNA certified 1992).  Worked on Kentz Gorgon project and 2 stints with BP Exploration and British Telecom (UK).  Joined WNA in April 2020 and has worked on Atlas Iron Corunna Downs project, BFS study for operation startup for BCI Minerals, Mardie Salt & Potash project and currently AGIG DBP microwave upgrade project.

Qualified as an electronic communications systems technician, Restricted Electrical Licence (WA), EEHA (SOA) & Open Registered Cabler licence.  Worked with Philips Communications, RAAF, Philips Scientific & Industrial, RLM on Jindalee Over Horizon Radar project, BHP & Rio Tinto.  Experienced with Satellite Earth Stations, HF, VHF, UHF radio systems and infrastructure, Micro Wave Radio, Crypto equipment, Analytical X-ray and Electron microscopy (STEM and TEM), CCTV, Fibre Optic Cabling, Microwave Radio, Boom Gates, PLC’s, Multiplexers, Wheel Impact Monitor, Direct Loco Control, HXP3 Rail Crossing detector, SCADA system programming, Railway Signalling Systems, Unix software systems, FDDI Ring, UPS, and some minor experience with robotics and load cells. Hands on experience in erecting communications towers.  Familiar with software systems Citec, Bitlab, KepServerEx, CNMS-NG, SolarWinds and PTRG.   Joined WNA in September 2018.

Over 25 years’ experience encompassing Technical Project Management, Communications and business solutions consulting, Management-Technical interfacing, Systems architecture & design (UC), Project & governance documentation, Event management, Logistics planning, Business development, Business process analysis, Management & team leadership, Financial accounting, Aircraft systems maintenance. Since June 2011 with WNA.

Five 5 years at BAE Systems initially working on defence communications systems primarily on the ANZAC fleet and project work with the HMAS Sirius project. Project included building new communications systems to convert a commercial tanker into a Navy vessel. Worked on communications systems for the Woodside Pluto and Eni Blacktip oil and gas projects, including P25 digital radio, VSAT and PAGA. Also performed maintenance work on the microwave links for BHP FPSO’s Stybarrow and Pyrenees. Eleven years at Rio Tinto Site Communications team, maintaining various communications systems for the Mines and Rail. Works included analogue voter radio systems, Tetra digital radio and the AutoHaul driverless train system. Also familiar with HF and VHF radios, CCTV, Fibre Optic Cabling and Security systems.
Joined WNA in March 2022 and engaged full time in telecommunications systems maintenance for various clients and facilities.

B. Eng (Electrical), M. Electrical, CCNA. 12 years+ experience in electrical, instrumentation, control and communications including onshore and offshore oil & gas projects in Australia and the Middle East. Communications systems experience includes LAN/WAN, SDH, UHF TETRA, VHF radio, microwave, CCTV, access control, FOIDS, PBX, PAGA, structured cabling (copper, fibre), power systems, earthing. Joined WNA in August 2019 and currently embedded with the INPEX Onshore communications team.

B.Bus (2001), Communications Technical Officer, ACMA Registered Cabler. 35 years experience in the communications industry including 31years with Telecom/Telstra as a Technical Officer and Team Manager covering a wide range of equipment-small capacity radio systems, solar power installation and maintenance, data cabling design and installation, equipment maintenance programs, PABX and Small business systems, Satellite broadband, PDH/SDH Transmission equipment. 3 years with BHPIO Communications working on transmission & mobile radio systems and railway asset protection equipment. Joined WNA in August 2011 and currently engaged on BHPIO communications/asset protection projects.

BEng Electrical – Communications (UWA 1978). 36+ years’ experience in telecommunications with Department of Communications, Australian Broadcasting Authority, Gibson Quai-AAS, Kellogg Joint Venture – Gorgon and INPEX.  10 years Oil & Gas experience with Gorgon LNG Project and Ichthys LNG Project (Yokohama & Darwin) including LAN/WAN & telephony, UHF TETRA mobile radio, radio consoles, PAGA, CCTV, RADAR, VSAT, IDS, access control, microwave links.  Radio coverage/path planning (Planet and Pathloss) for mobile radio, broadcasting and microwave and UHF link services.  Infrastructure – towers, cabling and cabinets, maritime and aeronautical radio, telecoms network management, meteorological and oceanographic systems, wireless LAN and personnel location.  Project management incl: FAT & SIT testing; verifying database records for equipment; witnessing/signing off the completion of Commissioning ITRs; conducting Ready for Commissioning (RFC) and Ready for Start Up (RFSU) walk down inspections; checking and signing off RFC and RFSU dossiers, Punch List Items; witnessing OTPs and SAT testing; liaison with Operations, monitoring Contractor performance & deviation requests.  Joined WNA October 2018. Currently embedded in the Inpex Project Engineering team.

Electrical / Instrument Fitter and SAP Master Data Specialist with a good working knowledge in Process Safety, Performance Standards, Regulatory Requirements, Maintenance Strategies and Engineering Standards.
Extensive SAP experience in nickel & gold mining organisations and past 20 years in Oil & Gas, primarily at Woodside. Major roles in Woodside SAP PM Project, NWS Offshore Campaign Lead Planner, Transfield Worley Brownfields SAP Team Lead, SAP PM Maintenance Specialist for IPF, KGP SCEMP SAP PM Team Leader and Maintenance Business & Data Specialist for Pluto Project. Most recently worked in the Woodside KGP Maintenance Strategy Project 2.
